At design stage

Ask us before the schedule is fixed, not after. We can tell you what is genuinely available at the size you are drawing, which species will hold up in your destination climate, and where a substitution would serve the scheme better than the tree you had in mind.

Availability at large caliper is the constraint that most often forces a late redesign. It is worth checking early.

How we measure

Conventions vary between suppliers, and a schedule that assumes one convention and receives another causes arguments on site. Ours:

Total height	Root collar to the top of the leader
Caliper	Trunk diameter, measured 1.0 m above the root collar
Clear trunk	Root collar to the lowest permanent branch
Crown spread	Widest horizontal dimension of the crown
Root-ball diameter	Widest horizontal dimension of the wrapped ball
Root-ball depth	Top of ball to base, measured after wrapping
Tolerance	Confirmed against your schedule at quotation, per species and size band

Specifying from this catalogue

Each entry in the species catalogue carries mature height and spread, the caliper and root-ball sizes we supply, and site tolerance written with arid and coastal conditions in mind. Mature height and crown spread are marked (indicative): they vary with soil, spacing and climate, so treat them as a guide rather than a specification. Ask us and we will give you the figure that applies to the trees you are actually buying. Where a schedule states container size in litres rather than caliper in millimetres, what caliper a given litre size works out at sets out the conversion.

Botanical names follow currently accepted nomenclature. Where a species is widely known under a synonym, both are given.

Plant schedules

Send the schedule in whatever format you already work in — spreadsheet, PDF, or an extract from the drawing set. We return it marked up with what we can supply, at what size, and where a substitution is worth considering. Where the scheme runs to a delivery programme rather than a single order, send it to Thailand Tree Farm, our supply side, and lifting and shipping are planned around your dates.

Ask and we will send the current species list as a single document you can attach to a drawing set.

Visiting the farm

Specifiers working at volume are welcome at the nursery in Suphan Buri, about 185 km from Bangkok. Seeing the stock standing is the fastest way to settle a specification.
