An evergreen with distinctly tiered, whorled branching and glossy foliage held in rosettes. The layered silhouette is formal enough for avenue work, and the tree holds its leaves year-round, which is uncommon among the larger species in our range.

Landscape use
Avenue and boulevard planting, campus and institutional grounds, screening, and year-round shade where a deciduous species would leave a gap in the dry season.
The night scent carries a long way, which makes it striking along a drive or across a courtyard where it can be enjoyed at a little distance. As with others in its family, the sap is a milky latex, so gloves are usual when pruning.

Export notes
Supplied root-balled and wrapped. As an evergreen it is lifted with more foliage than deciduous species, so crown reduction before shipment is normal practice.
