Real Millingtonia hortensis nursery stock supplied by Thai Botanic in Thailand
Millingtonia hortensis — real nursery stock in Thailand.

A slender, upright evergreen carrying masses of long white tubular flowers that open at night and scent the air like jasmine. The narrow crown makes it one of the few trees here that fits comfortably into tight streets and courtyards.

Caliper range supplied5–22 cm standard, measured 1 m above soil level. Larger by arrangement.

Landscape use

Narrow streets, courtyards, car park islands, screening and boundary planting. The upright habit gives height without spread, which is exactly what constrained urban sites need.

The evening scent carries well, making it particularly effective near terraces, entrances and walkways used after dark. Planted in a line it forms a tall evergreen screen quickly.

Site tolerance

DroughtModerate to high once established
SalinityLow to moderate (indicative)
WindModerate — soft wood, best given some shelter
SoilWell-drained, wide range
HeatHigh, with irrigation
USDA zone10–12

Export notes

Supplied root-balled and wrapped. The narrow crown loads efficiently, so container counts in this species are favourable. Phytosanitary certification accompanies every shipment. See export and compliance, and how the root ball is built, wrapped and loaded for the container on our nursery site.

For available sizes and current stock in this species, message us on WhatsApp at +66 93 425 9892 or email contact@thaibotanic.com — or browse the species catalogue. This is one of the species we grow and supply regularly. If you are working to a programme, send the planting schedule and we will plan lifting and shipping around it. Where a design calls for something outside our usual range, we source it through the nursery network we have worked with for years, given reasonable notice.

Caliper is the trunk diameter measured 1.0 m above the root collar, and is the minimum each grade meets. Root balls are sized in proportion to the tree; larger balls can be prepared where a specification calls for them. Where a schedule specifies container size in litres rather than caliper, this conversion bridges the two.
