Flowers on bare branches in a short, complete flush — the whole crown turns pink at once, then finishes. One of the few tropical trees that gives a temperate-style blossom moment, and it is specified for exactly that effect.

Boulevards, entrance avenues, plazas and civic planting. It carries a narrower crown than most flowering trees here, so it works in tighter streets where a spreading species would not.
